So... since the flat is now acceptable for outside viewing I was able to convince Nigel to throw a small dinner party last Saturday. I only had to slightly beg in addition. We invited Noelle & Nick as our first guinea pigs/guests and I think despite the mild bickering (Nig & I had differing opinions of food, etc) the night was a success. Nig doesn't yet trust my skills in the kitchen for mass consumption so he did all the cooking (with my supervision) and I just fiddled with the music playlist while he worked. Hey, that part is important too!!! I have to admit, Nig throws a good dinner party. He thought of everything not just the main (a fancy shrimp, fusilli & gnocchi, cream,& spincach pasta dish) and dessert but, appetizers, and a cheese platter for after dessert. Noelle gave him the best compliment as she was leaving when she said she was full. Shout out to Grammy for suggesting we add Bailey's to the strawberry/blueberry/whip cream dessert. It was AMAZING! Anyone want the easy recipe let me know. Although Nig & I threw a good party, Grammy is and will always be the Queen of home entertaining... and everything else.

Very fancy and delicious looking!
ReplyDeleteGrandma Tait would be proud; however, I'm sure she would have grown her own spinach and caught her own shrimp :)
