The last months have been so dark and gloomy that when the sun finally creeped back in it was as if the Lord had turned the on the lights. FINALLY!
Here's a rundown of the last 5 Months:
November - reading Roots inspires me to honor my ancestors so I spend Thanksgiving with my grandparents and take Dylan to his first Lakers game
December - moved to Pimlico (shacking up made my grandparents so proud)
Wondered why the Brits take the month of December so seriously
Threw a housewarming/B'day/Christmas party (A festivus for the rest of us)
Spent Christmas with the Dickies in Manchester (a very very boozy Christmas Hillary & Ian are machines)
Rang in the New Year with Nig's odd friend Tom & Tom's even odder friend Tim (no comment)
Weather update: Worst winter to hit London in half a century. Got hit with a snowball by neighborhood kids. Scary scary youths!
January - went to Copenhagen for work (who knew people actually lived and worked in Copenhagen)
Found a new church home in the American church of London (hearing Americans recite scripture is so soothing)
Went to a randomly awesome and FREE masquerade ball
Nig went to his best friend's wedding so I had the whole flat to myself
Weather update: Rainy with no chance of sun...wondering why I ever moved to London and cursed Nigel's name
February -
Nigel planned an elaborate Valentine's Day for us (oh wait... that didn't happen)
Threw a Pot Luck at work (they had no idea what a pot luck was British people are so cute)
Went to Paris for work (spent the weekend being Lorenzo's PA and wondered what was happening to my life)
Made new friends from church (PJ & Jane) who treated us to the best Korean BBQ ever!
Hit a semi groove at work. Spent countless hours writing marketing materials. Finally put some systems into place that I think will help multiple departments. Tried not to be too loud or too American.
Weather update: Snowy.Dark.Rainy. Why did I move to London again?
February cont'd -
Realized why the Brits drink and party all of December - it's the last bit of fun till Spring
Boss sat me down and announced he was terminating my contract early (one word: played)
Got drunk with a stranger at my favorite wine bar
Caroline rescues me and I move into the marketing department until April

March
Celebrated my year anniversary in London and 3 years with Nigel - WOW
The Americans are coming the Americans are coming! - The O'neals, Cheng-Hutchins & Liana came to visit. Good times, Good very stressful times.
Spend St. Patty's day in Dublin (best pizza I've had in ages)
Weather update: Wait...is that Sun?
April
Working nearly round the clock to get ready for MIP. Not that I am going to Cannes to see it in its glory (not that I'm slightly bitter ;)
Realize that I am a really good copy writer and marketeer (could this be my UK profession?)
Weather update: The sun has arrived!
