Visa Parties, The Fab Four & The Bird Cage

Nig's friends Alice & Martin celebrated getting their visas renewed by throwing a very intricate fancy dress party. And by fancy dress I mean costume. The costume theme was any representation of a country not in the European Union (sounds complicated I know), but somehow a lot of the attendees were able to pull it off. There were people dressed as sheep to represent New Zealand and pandas to represent China and a woman wearing a skirt made of ties to represent Thailand. People went as far as applying face paint to kick up their costumes. FACE PAINT - after the age of 10. I was very confused. Nigel went as a Mexican wrestler. I went as an American - so I just looked awesome.

Lorenzo, Kevin and I went to dinner with our colleague Simon (a ridiculously funny and amazing woman from Manchester). It was our second monthly "Fab Foursome" dinner. Despite Lorenzo's insistence we venture out to a less provincial eatery we tend to always end up going to cheap Chinese.

Our flatmate Shaun invited me to go to see La Cage Aux Folles (it is the play that was later turned into the Robin Williams movie, The Bird Cage) with he and his friends Chris and Slyvia. It was a really fun night. The only odd bit was the star of the show John Barrowman, (http://www.johnbarrowman.com/) looked so much like Nigel that I felt like I was watching Nig sing and dance in glamorous women's attire all night long. At least it confirmed my belief that he would make a pretty woman.

  1. Your hair is looking great!

I checked out the John Barrowman website. If Nigel and Tom Cruise had a baby, it would for sure be John Barrowman.
