4th of July - London Style

4th of July London Style was not so much a celebration of America's independence from Britain but more like a huge practical joke that was played on Americans living in London. We all trekked to Battersea Park (which is beautiful) for a day that was supposed to be filled with American music, rides, fire works etc and all we got were overpriced BBQ and about 6 hours of salsa music (viva Tito Puente!) My non-American friends were quite pleased that my 4th of July party was a bust (Nigel was especially giddy by the general lack of American-ness) but all in all it was still a great day! My pals from work Lorenzo, the lovely Italian to my right and Kevin laying across my lap, came out with us and it was so fun. They pretend to be annoyed with me all the time but I know they love me...I think.
