Easter in London is a BIG deal. Not so much because of the whole Christ resurrecting thing (which is huge) but because Britons get off work both Easter Friday and Easter Monday. It's what they call a Bank Holiday weekend. The banks are closed so because this is Europe they decide to close down most of the shops. And they wonder why their economy is dying.
On Easter Friday, I escaped from the mess the boys were making at the flat and went to Elion's to watch Ben Hur and eat fish. Apparently in West Indian culture you cannot eat meat on Easter Friday. None of my West Indian friends could tell me the actual reason behind the no-meat rule but I decided to honor its significance. Both Ben-Hur and the fish were really good.
After church on Sunday, I went to dinner at my friend Noelle's house. She made a lamb roast and her boyfriend tried to explain Twitter to me ( I really still have no idea). The food was great and there was PLENTY of wine, which is always a good thing.
Hope you all had a great Easter Weekend!
xoxo, N
