A Tale of Two Birthdays

Last Friday was Elian's B'Day and Damion & Tyson (the other barbers at the salon pictured above) threw her a great surprise party. The party was held at the shop (where else would it be?) and I had such a good time. Paul the cook, made all sorts of West Indian food, most of which I don't have the names for but only pictures. Usually I would have stopped to ask but by the time we were ready to eat I was so hungry that I couldn't be bothered. Paul made a separate plate of plaintains for me and that still wasn't enough! Elian was completely surprised and the party was a success!

Nig's B'Day was on Monday and we celebrated with a quiet dinner at the flat. I made him homemade Thai Green Curry and again it was so good that he didn't believe I made it. I was surprised it turned out so well myself. It was a bit too spicy for me but Nig & Shaun (his flatmate) loved it. Of course I had to make it when he was at work because when he is here he doesn't trust my cooking. We are planning to celebrate his b-day this weekend with some friends at a pub, but Monday was a nice way to kick off his b'day celebration.

Happy B'Day to them both!

  1. Only one plate of plantains? That could never be enough. I remember how you almost killed me the last time you had a full plate of plantains and I took just one. Still a scary memory.

Btw, happy birthday Nigel! Hope this year's celebration is just as awesome as Cinco de Nigel (even though I won't be there to provide the flair).
